A Week of Prayer & Fasting

“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Can you remember the last time you simply rested in the presence of God and knew that all would be well?

As we head into a new year full of unknowns, let’s return to the presence of God to be rested, established, and strengthened.

Every January, Home Church kicks off the new year with a week of prayer and fasting. Each morning, our Global Partners will join us on Zoom with an encouraging word. Each evening, we will gather virtually or in our tent to pray. On Saturday we will have a special Worship night, and Sunday will finish with a meal together.

With God. January 25-31.

Exodus 33:14-17 (ESV)  And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.15  And he said to him, “If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here. 16  For how shall it be known that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? Is it not in your going with us, so that we are distinct, I and your people, from every other people on the face of the earth?” 17  And the LORD said to Moses, “This very thing that you have spoken I will do, for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.”

Isaiah 30:16 “For thus said the Lord God, the Holy one of Israel, ‘In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and trust shall be your strength.’ But you were unwilling.”

Isaiah 40:28-41:1a “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He give power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Listen to me in silence, O coastlands; let the peoples renew their strength.”
