Work Schedule:  Part-Time (20 hrs.) to Full-Time (40+ hrs.) depending on experience and availability.  Sundays are required.
Location:               The Home Church, 1799 S. Winchester Blvd., Campbell, CA 95008

Summary:
The Home Church is a vibrant, non-denominational, charismatic congregation in the heart of Silicon Valley, with a huge vision to reach our community and to impact our world!

We are looking for an enthusiastic Communication Specialist to drive our internal and external communications. The Communication Specialist will enhance communication systems already in place, and establish a marketing strategy and communication plan that is essential for the growth, health, and development of the church.

The role of the Communications Specialist includes strategic planning and leadership, ensuring that the church vision and culture is being communicated in every facet of our ministry.

Additionally, The Home Church has a significant ministry and outreach to the Campbell community, businesses, and city government.  This position has a public relations element, at times serving as a liaison to these groups, and informing and engaging our congregation in volunteer support of key Campbell events.

Responsibilities:

  • Consistently monitor and update the church’s website and social media accounts.
  • Standardize messaging across all platforms: online, print, and in-person.
  • Bridge the online to offline gap between all ministry initiatives.
  • Create and implement branding and style guidelines & create messages in keeping with them.
  • Educate staff and church leadership on communication or marketing issues and processes.
  • Keep church members informed of official business, including services, meetings, building or staff changes, and outreach initiatives.
  • Help the church see and celebrate the work God is doing.
  • Provide people with points of connection to the church throughout the week.
  • Make it easy for people to get the help and support they need from the pastoral staff or church body as a whole.
  • Spur the people of God to good works by rallying volunteers for church-led ministry initiatives.
  • Establish communication plans for sensitive issues like crisis communications, staff changes, or deaths.
  • Inform people in the community about services the church offers.
  • Create campaigns to attract more people to services and events.
  • Study the audiences the church is trying to reach, and use that knowledge to recommend and implement outreach strategies.
  • Create and implement a system for following up with first-time guests.
  • Be the person who is always asking, “How can we make this experience better for someone who has never been to church?”.

  • Professional Copywriting and Editing experience
  • Public Speaking and Project Management experience is a plus

Church Relationship:

  • Home Church membership and regular attendance is required for this position.

Music Director Job Description

  • Ensure charts and arrangements are available
  • Provide notes / tutorials to band as needed
  • Prepare backing tracks as needed
  • Prepare for band rehearsal (MD-style… able to lead all band members)

Worship Pastor

  • The Worship Pastor of Home Church works closely with the Senior Pastor to design and implement engaging worship gatherings that lead to transforming encounters with God.
  • The Worship Pastor reports directly to the Senior Pastor, is a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and oversees the musicians (vocalists and instrumentalists).
  • As a vital member of the leadership team, the Worship Pastor is a full stakeholder in the vision, mission, and values of Home Church.
  • As a pastor and shepherd, the Worship Pastor identifies, equips, and supports upcoming worship leaders, musicians, and other artists, helping them grow into maturity and ministry effectiveness.
  • The Worship Pastor must believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, be filled with the Holy Spirit, and be trained in encouraging others to seek their giftings from the Holy Spirit.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE WORSHIP PASTOR: 

  • Leads worship Sunday’s 2 to 3 times per month.
  • Responsible for choosing and introducing new songs that align to the season the church is currently in.
  • Meets regularly with the Senior Pastor to design upcoming worship gatherings (mostly Sunday morning services) with the goal of connecting people with God for the purpose of being transformed. The Worship Pastor assists the Senior Pastor in discerning how to best shepherd people in a lifestyle of responding to God.
  • Assists the Senior Pastor by giving input and ideas to enhance teaching series and weekly messages, with an emphasis on suggesting a variety of worship expressions and movements.
  • Provides personal care and spiritual nurture for members of the worship ministry—this person has a shepherd’s heart.
  • Prepares song lists and other worship elements for Sunday worship gatherings, and communicates song choices, arrangements, and other special information to worship team in a timely manner.
  • Works with other worship leaders at Home Church and the Music Director (if applicable)
  • to prepare for worship gatherings. Space is made for upcoming worship leaders to help design and lead worship gatherings.
  • Recruits, trains and grows worship team as both a function and ministry of Home Church.
  • Acts as a spokesperson for the Senior Pastor to communicate the vision of the church, the purpose for each series and messages in each series, and the vital role the worship ministry plays in the success of realizing the mission and vision of Home Church.
  • Attends weekly staff meetings and is prepared to present and explain the worship elements and movements of upcoming Sunday worship gatherings to the staff.
  • Is capable of handling the responsibilities of the Music Director as needed. See attached job description for the Music Director.
