Why Are We Not Having A Sunday Service?
The Santa Clara County Public Health Officer has issued an order that requires all residents to self-isolate in their places of residence through April 7, 2020. While the order contains exceptions for essential services, unfortunately attending church services is not among those exceptions. In Romans 13 we are commanded to be subject to the governing authorities. Since the governing authorities have issued this order in an attempt to stop the spread of the COVID-19 Virus, in preference of others we will cooperate and not physically gather at the Home Church Facilities for worship, study, or fellowship until April 8, 2020, at the earliest.
We will, however, continue to make every effort to gather for worship, study, prayer and fellowship using all electronic and digital means available to us. Please continue to monitor this page for updated information, and please continue to pray fervently, act prudently, and proclaim the gospel courageously by serving others as the law permits and while being considerate of them and their needs. Remember, social distancing and hand washing is not just to protect yourselves but to protect others as well.
In Matthew 9 we read, “When Jesus saw the crowds, he had compassion on them”. Jesus demonstrated such compassion by lovingly suffering with those in need as he met their needs. We can trust that He continues to have compassion on the “crowds” who suffer in this world, and that he will meet every need—in us his children and through us his saints.
Please keep us posted on how you and your family are doing, and your specific prayer needs, by submitting a prayer request.
