Pastor Hector mentioned on Sunday during our hosting time that we were looking at doing “Drive-In Church.” We will not be doing that just yet. We will have service as usual through our Livestream. Whether we do Drive-in Church in the future will depend on the Shelter in Place orders in place at the time.
We are expecting new orders from the County Public Health Department later this week. As I mentioned on Sunday, Governor Newsom’s staff did indicate that Drive-in Church did not violate the State’s SIP orders. However, our County order’s are more restrictive than the State’s orders and such a service would be a direct violation of the current orders.
I am working together with other church leaders and speaking with local law enforcement to determine the best course of action and to best understand the full consequences of our decisions before these type of decisions are made. If our leadership determine that Sunday morning services during the SIP orders should change, we will make that decision together taking into consideration all the necessary facts and potential consequences. Please continue to pray for wisdom and discernment and thank you for your diligent service. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Bless you all!
